| Positive Affirmations by Meg Chin Reprinted by special request from the Psychic Eye April 2004 We can have negative or positive affirmations. Negativity begets negativity. When people are negative, they are living in fear. They may be fearful that someone else might have or get more than what they have. Maybe they fear what they have will be taken from them. Maybe they are jealous of other people’s success. People gossip and spread lies and rumors to be hurtful and spiteful. I’ll tell you this. The universe gives back to you what you send out. I repeat: The universe gives back to you what you send out. THIS IS UNIVERSAL LAW. You can send out and receive the negative – or you can send out the positive and receive the positive. The choice is yours! Thoughts influence our emotions and also have responses in the body. For Example: Think of a great big, fat juicy lemon. Imagine cutting this lemon in half. Imagine removing the seeds with the point of a knife. Smell the lemon. Now, imagine squeezing the juice from the lemon directly into your mouth. Imagine digging your teeth into the center of the lemon. Chew the pulp. Feel those little things (whatever those little things are called) breaking and popping inside your mouth. Most people’s salivary glands respond to the very thought of a lemon. What’s going on inside your mouth right now? For some people, just the thought of the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard is physically uncomfortable. Our physical, emotional and spiritual discomforts can be decreased by stating positive remarks to offset our fears, doubts and worries. Healing happens during positive affirmations. What you do, you become stronger in. A strong mental attitude is built in the same way physical strength is built – by repetition. Manipulating our thoughts builds mental strength. You can use this tool for negativity too. We all know at least one person who rarely has anything nice to say about anything or anyone. They’ve probably been engaged in this behavior for a long time. Their energy is low. I pray for them because they receive what they send out - low, negative energy. They are in a cycle of self-hate. They need prayers. Caution: It’s easy to get drawn into this cycle! Being around this negative energy is sure to influence your thoughts and behaviors. You may become negative toward those behaving in this fashion and guess what – you’re doing the very same thing to them as they are doing to others! In the Communications Class held in January we discussed the subject of negativity. We say “You spot it – You got it”! What we dislike in others is a reflection of what we dislike in ourselves. Positive affirmations are just one more tool for you to use in your healing. Positive affirmations can be written and repeated as necessary. When you notice those fears, doubts and worries creeping in, change the negative thought and replace it with a positive one. I hear people say “I’m so stupid.” Replace this with “I AM intelligent!” I hear “I can’t do this.” Replace this comment with “I CAN and WILL do this!” Say it with conviction! If you can’t find anything positive to counter the negative thought, you can always say “Hmmmm, isn’t that an interesting comment.” This will make you really think about what you are sending out to the universe. When I first started working with positive affirmations, I used to put them on those little yellow Post-It pads and leave them everywhere I felt I needed a reminder for strength. I used to have them all over the house! My friends and family used to tease me about them. Those positive affirmations helped to remind me of the path I decided to take – my path for healing. When I no longer needed the affirmation, I would say “thank you” to it and put it in my journal. My favorite affirmation, written in 1973, posted on a mirror read: The only person who can stand in the way of your progress is looking back at you. It made me think and think a lot. It also made me feel empowered. At other times it made me feel sad. I read this affirmation at least three times a day for over a year before retiring it to my journal. Since then, I do not allow anyone or anything to stand in the way of my progress. I always invite others to join me. It makes the journey easier and much more pleasant. Other forms of positive affirmations take place in music. Music, as we know, can lift the spirit and make us feel wonderful. Karen Druker’s “Songs of the Spirit II” is a wonderful CD. I’ve played her music at the First Spiritualist Church of Toledo on a couple of occasions. Following are the words to Healed Whole & Healthy. This is a favorite of mine. I use it when I’m out of balance. The words are powerful. Healed, Whole, Well…. I am healed whole and healthy I relax and visualize* I am healed whole and healthy I am well – I am well *substitute with: I accept and I receive …. Angels are watching over me …. I’ve got love surrounding me …. All is well – I am well …. I believe there is only Love. Everything that is not out of love is out of fear, or fear-based. TODAY – NOW – Let’s start fresh by leaving all our fears, doubts and worries behind us. Live in the positive and leave behind the negative. Send out the positive and receive the positive. I’ll leave you with the words to “There is only Love”. In this moment – in this place I remember who I am Letting fear and worry fall away from me I open my eyes and see Chorus: There is only love There is only love Love that heals Love that sets us free There is only love …. | I HAVE A DREAM, TOO! BY LINDA DIX I, too have a dream. A dream that all of us in the Metaphysical Community will one day work together in one accord, with no one gossiping about another, or downright lying about another. Where we love one another, care about one another, and support one another. A pipe dream you say, I don't think so. If enough of us could only practice what we preach, we would be amazed at the results. It is so easy to talk the talk, but difficult to walk the walk! We all agree that there is only One source that messages, healings, etc come from, a nd that we are merely pipes conducting this energy from the source to the recipient of that energy and then back into Mother Earth. Then we can use the analogy of a water line that comes into our homes. There is one main water line that comes into our homes that supplies the entire house with life giving water, correct? Then from that one source the whole house is supplied with the water through a maze of connecting pipes and eventually drains that go into one source into the sewer line, As the pipes leave the main source they divide and bend going under the house, into the walls going up and down, to the outside of the house for the yard and then leading back into a series of pipes that drain eventually into the big black pipe or sewer drain that returns it back into the ground for recycling. Now each pipe may have a different function to supply either the kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, outside faucet, etc. but each is dependent on the other to do that supplying. If one pipe is broken or plugged, it effects the pipes that it connects to causing the water flow to be stopped or restricted, hence those slow running water faucets. The same with drains, if one is plugged or restricted, it slows down the emptying process or stops it completely causing a back up and overflow of the drains causing a really big disgusting mess to clean up. A job none of us ever looks forward to doing. All the pipes and drains must work together in one accord to get the job of supplying and returning water in the household done. The kitchen pipes are no more important than the bathroom or laundry room pipes. There's no egos here, or jealously, or negativity, there's no need for these things. No one is greater or lesser than the other and only together can they make up the whole. Now let's put this in Spiritual terms. One source is the Great Spirit, we as channels are the pipes and drains and we are to deliver this Healing/Message giving energy to those who are in need of this life giving energy. If one of us is blocked, or holding onto negative feelings we slow up the energy or stop it altogether! When we are jealous, threatened, negative, with egos flaring we are blocked, plugged up and practically useless to ourselves, our clients, and each other! No one is greater or lesser than the other and only together can we make up the whole. Why then do we bicker, backbite, lie about each other, rejoice when one of us falls, feel threatened by someone else's gift being used: we all have our place in the great scheme of pipes that makes us channels for the Great Spirit. Do you think the Great Spirit would give so many of us these gifts if there weren't enough places for ALL of us to use them? Of course not! We don't have one more or one less needed pipe in our home than what we need; therefore we do not have one more or one less needed channel to spread this Healing Energy around than what is needed to accomplish the job we were sent here to do. We are all here to serve the Great Spirit and each other, in LOVE! We need not feel threatened or scared that we will no longer be needed, if you were not a valued needed asset, you would not have been given the gifts you were given. We are each unique, gifted, and spiritual beings that are also trapped in this body of human frailty and emotions that betray us at every opportunity it seems and we fall prey to the more negative traits we humans have. My dream is that we all work together like the pipes in our homes as interconnecting channels to help each other and our fellow man during the earth walking experience. We have the potential to make this earth walking experience a brilliant one and to make all of our dreams come true by simply working together in one accord, in one Spirit, and with one mind. | OUT ON A LIMB BY LINDA DIX As most of us are aware, there is a controversy about same sex marriages being allowed to take place here in the USA and whether or not our Government will recognize these unions as legal. For what it is worth, here are my thoughts on this matter. First of all, our Constitution allows us all certain rights, one of these the pursuit of happiness. And unless this pursuit is harmful to society as a whole, such as being a serial killer is your pursuit of happiness, you have the right to pursue your happiness in your own way and how you see fit. Secondly, if we need to take God out of our government, such as in the pledge of allegiance, then we cannot fall back on God when it serves our purpose to make a so called "moral" judgment. I am not saying being Gay is right or wrong, what I am saying is who are we to judge whether it is right or wrong. I know one can pull verses out of the Bible "proving" one's own point on this matter, but I can also pull verses out that tells us we must stone someone for committing adultery! We can't use God when it serves our own agenda, then abandon it when it does not. When the town's people caught a woman in the act of committing adultery, they brought her before Jesus, demanding that she be stoned for her sins (interestingly, the man got off scott free) Jesus told them that "who are you that judges this woman? And that he who is without sin, cast the first stone". Not one stone was thrown! We do not have the right to judge another and that's what we are doing. Thirdly, it is wrong for the government to tell us who we can fall in love with. It is our decision whom we give our hearts to. A hundred years ago it was illegal for a bi-racial marriage to occur, people found "proof" in the Bible back then to enforce their own agendas, the same as now. Think about this, if we recognize Gay marriages, insurance companies would have to recognize them as well. This would cost them MONEY to insure workers spouses, and stereotypically insurances feel that Gay couples are more likely to be ill than the rest of the population, so that would cost even more MONEY. Who is doing the lobbying in Washington to promote banning these unions? Insurance companies! These unions were not such a hot topic until workers wanted their significant others covered on their insurance policies! We need to draw the line in the sand, take a stand and say no more! If not, will the government one day say that only people with the same hair color, or eye color can get married and have that union recognized. This is a civil rights issue, not a moral one. This is big brother telling us who we can and cannot love. This is prejudice of the new millennium? Until the African Americans and others drew the line in the sand and stood up for their rights, they had none. And now it's time for the Gay community and others to stand up for their rights, if not I feel in the end all of us will lose the right to the pursuit of happiness, and the right to decide who we will love. There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington, D.C. DID YOU KNOW? James Madison, the fourth president, known as "The Father of Our Constitution" made the following statement "We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God." Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said, "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ". DID YOU KNOW? Every session of Congress begins with a prayer by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid by the taxpayer since 1777. DID YOU KNOW? Fifty-two of the 55 founders of the Constitution were members of the established orthodox churches in the colonies. DID YOU KNOW? Thomas Jefferson worried that the Courts would overstep their authority and instead of interpreting the law would begin making law.... an oligarchy....the rule of few over many. DID YOU KNOW? The very first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, said, "Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers”. How, then, have we gotten to the point that everything we have done for 220 years in this country is now suddenly wrong and unconstitutional? Once and for all, stand up for the Nation and voice the principles this country was founded on...rather than watch it be destroyed by those that have no faith. | THE PYRAMID OF ORDER By Radko Vacek Even if the rest of the Bible had not existed, Genesis and Exodus together would be one of the most valuable documents. These Books present the paradox of the Pentateuch, and one solution. The Paradox is that when we think we are free, we are not free, but when we think we are not free, we are free. Besides Jewish thinkers, other thinkers in ancient times pondered the paradox. The Greeks encountered Fate, and found it so powerful that even Zeus sometimes was subordinate. The Babylonians were dissatisfied with the Greek solution of acceptance, instead seeking transcendence as represented by the descent of Ishtar into the underworld. Genesis presents the first half of the Paradox in the fall of Adam and Eve. God addresses them as beings with the power to choose whether or not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, warning them not to do so. But how much freedom do they really have to abstain from eating of the tree, once they are told not to eat? It is like mother telling her children not to eat the cookies in the jar. She can be 99% sure that sooner or later they will, once told not to. The trouble with the forbidden fruit is that it looks too good for human eyes! We think we are free to resist, but really how free are we given human nature? Jesus knows the first half of the Paradox and uses it to expand His healing practice. In Matthew IX, 28-31, He opens the eyes of the blind men. He warns them saying, “see that no one knows it.” Why do you think He says this? He is almost sure they will trumpet it, once told not to do so! The blind men mirror Adam and Eve nearly perfectly, with the minor variation that the eyes of the blind are opened first, and then they yield to temptation, whereas Adam and Eve yield to temptation first, and then their eyes are opened. Exodus presents the second part of the Paradox: When we think we are not free; we are free. Some of us find the philosophy of the Ten Commandments to be a negative one. Eight out of ten of them are worded in the manner, “you shall not.” This runs against the new faith in the power of positive thinking. Some of us want to replace the Ten Commandments with positive sounding philosophies, such as, “If it harms none, do as you will.” But think of it this way. If you have a list of a hundred things you can do next to a list of ten you cannot do, does it not make more sense to post the list of the ten? It saves much work and much confusion to keep it simple with the short list. This is the philosophy behind the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments bring order to a society, so that its members can safely exercise their freedom to choose. Chaos and freedom rarely run side by side. Some of us think that lines such as, “if it harms none, do as you will,” say it all. The Ten Commandments are grounded on the recognition that sadly such lines do not say it all. The Paradox of the Pentateuch stands on the foundations of the Cabala, an ancient tradition of philosophy and magic. In this tradition, a central symbol for the world is the Tree of Life. The lower part of the Tree is separated from the upper part by a Great Divide. It divides the higher manifestations of Divinity from the lower manifestations. God and the Angels belong to the upper part and the animal kingdom, of which man is a subject, belongs in the lower part. Man is divided from the higher manifestations of Divinity, and so he is not an Angel. Definitely not! Due to the limitations of his animal nature, he never will be an Angel. The Cabala emphasizes that man is a vicious animal, and theft and murder will be committed unless a code spells out that these acts are not to be done. Even with such a moral code, such acts still get done. But still, a society is safer with the Ten Commandments than not having such a code at all. Although the Commandments are not presented as such in the Bible, they form a pyramid of order. The foundation consists of the three Commandments dealing with honoring God and, “Honor your father and your mother.” These are the four dealings with honoring the Source. Some critics say that the God of the Bible is a tyrannical monopolist, but Biblical monotheism is defensible. The God of the Bible is the Source of the Commandments. If you do not take the Source seriously, what is to stop you from making a mockery of His Commandments? And if you do not respect your parents, the source of your very life, what is to move you to respect anyone else? On this foundation rest the next level of three Commandments that concern, “nipping it in the bud.” These condemn adultery, coveting, and lying. In our age of permissiveness, these may not seem like such big deals, but all three have strong tendencies to grow into theft and murder. We like to ask, “So what if I tell a little, white lie?” But white lies often turn into gray and black fast. Some of us may end up lying to hide murder. The third level in the pyramid consists of the two big stones of “no stealing” and “no murder.” The crowning stone of the pyramid is “Remember the Sabbath day.” This may be the most important and misunderstood one of all. How easy it is to skip over Exodus XX, verse 9! “Six days you shall labor and do all your work.” What is the most diabolical invention man ever made? “The weekend!” Five days you labor, not six! The wisdom of the Cabala sounds loud and clear here, for idle hands breed havoc. Yes, man needs some time to rest, but when he rests, Satan works double time. The most dangerous day is Sunday. It gives Satan so much time to work! Timothy McVey dreamed up the bombing on a Sunday afternoon. They are presented, not as the pyramid, but as separate Commandments of equal importance as gifts from God. This makes Exodus XX so delightful, that God can be so experienced in close encounters of the Divine kind! Jesus also is presented this way, and in Matt. V, note that He comes to reinforce the order and wisdom of the Commandments, not to destroy the law. |
Peace and Calm By Sharon Kay My memory is taking me back to a day at the lake. I’m laying in a hammock, rowing a boat, then sitting on the dock watching the sun go down. It is peaceful and quiet as I watch the sun’s reflection in the water. As I went back there in my mind, I felt the same peace and calmness that I felt then. There was plenty of time to meditate and no one to interrupt my peace and calm. My way of experiencing peace and calm might be completely different than yours. We all have to find our own way, and we all need peace and calm in our lives. Other ways I’ve found to be calming are reading, watching TV, and doing crossword puzzles. Creating inner peace means you are not attached on an emotional level to things that happen in the world you see around you. You need to remain loving and at peace, no matter what the other person does or no matter what occurs in you life. Anything that you feel has to be a certain way; any inflexibility can affect your inner peace. When you are calm, when you slow down and relax, you are able to create and think at higher levels. When you become calm before you act or speak, you will do much better. Do you remember when you were in school, and the teacher called on you or gave a test? How did you react? If you acted jumpy and nervous you probably had a more difficult time answering the questions. You would have been much better off to remain calm. Being uptight and tense is bad for your health. Your heart, your blood pressure and other ailments are more likely to act up when you are tense. A nervous stomach and pains in your neck are often the results of being too tense. Fear is a low energy that also makes you tense. Inner peace is a connection to the heart and a willingness to let go of fear. Let go of self criticisms. You only put yourself down and put yourself under too much pressure. You may say, “Sure I can remain calm when things are going well. Don’t say, ”I can remain calm except if this thing or that thing happens.” Say to yourself that you will remain calm no matter what. No matter what happens each day; unexpected bills, a flat tire, or a broken washing machine, getting upset won’t do your health or your situation any good. Just calmly take care of it. Inner peace is an attitude. You can choose to struggle or you can choose joy. It’s up to you. Inner peace is your choice. When something happens to make you feel defensive or hurt, you have another choice. You can choose to feel love, understanding and peace. You can choose to see the world any way you want to see it. You know which is the better choice. Don’t say, “ Yes but, if I only had more money, more friends, a bigger house, a better mate, well behaved children, then I could be at peace.” You can be at peace now, whatever your situation, if you would only choose peace and calm. Inner peace can be forgiveness. Learn to forgive others. Let go of grudges. If someone hurt you, let it go. Right now make the decision to bring peace into your live. Starting now, become more loving, understanding and more forgiving. Only you can create inner peace, so start creating it right now. If you are calm, you can change your reaction to things that used to disturb you. If you are trying to change things but cant, don’t let it intrude on your peace of mind. Choose words that are uplifting when talking to others and to yourself. Use words like joy, love, peace, harmony and goodness. Let go of words like stupid, ugly and lazy. You will know when you are growing spiritually when certain situations that might have greatly upset you years ago, that you now let pass quickly. If someone hurt you in the past, you held on to it way to long. Now, you shrug your shoulders and decide that it’s their problem and not yours. You will begin to realize that people are going to do it their way, and if that’s not your way, it is still OK. You can chose peace over worry, calm over turbulence and love over conflict. Listen to your higher guidance and your life will work much more easier and be more joyful. |
| Building Cleansing At Tower Radio A house or building or other dwelling cleansing consist of me doing what I would call a Spiritual healing for the place in question. As soon as I walk into a dwelling of any sort I can feel whether there is a lingering spirit on the premises. I usually pick up on the vibration of the entity that is unsettled, and is unsettling to the place. I can tell if it is female or male, young or old, and what their purpose for lingering is. Also there can be more than one entity/spirit haunting a place. They show me what they look like mostly through my third eye/psychic vision. I have at times actually seen a real eye vision of the spirit form. I do the cleansing procedure by walking through each room holding up my hands in praise and saying a prayer for God to send in healing loving light and to rid the place of any negative energy and entities and send them to the “Light.” As I am doing the prayer, I sprinkle sea salt and holy/healing water though the rooms. Sea salt is a very cleansing mineral. Of course, holy or healing water seals the place with good energy. Most spirits are ready and willing to leave the premises as soon as they are told they are dead and don’t belong and are not wanted there anymore. Sometimes when people pass over in an accident or die unexpectedly fast they stay in that spot because they might not realize they are dead. They decide to stay earth bound to a familiar place because they don’t know where else to go. Or they are staying there because of unfinished business that they feel needs to be fixed or uncovered before they can move on to the other side where a new life is waiting for them. I talk to the spirits directly and tell them they need to leave and go to the “Light” where they have God, family, friends, and even loving pets waiting for them. I was invited to do a building cleansing in April of 2006. The invitation came from Brent the radio station manager/programmer. I had done a previous cleansing of the building many months before when Train, the previous programmer was there. He had felt and heard strange things there, especially at the back door at the early morning hours when he went into work. When I did that cleansing, it was very simple and easy. As soon as I walked into the building I walked back and stood by the door and felt strong spirit energy. It was a very sad energy. The Spirit found me when I went to the rest room which was near the back door. As soon as I walked into the restroom, a young girl walked in with me. She was about 17 years old and she said the reason she was there was because she was murdered on the spot while out partying with friends. One male friend got upset and angry with her and killed her. They all, around five of them, felt guilty as being part of too much drugs and alcohol they had given her and they buried her on the premises that was underneath the building before it was built. She was never found. But she wanted it to be known she was murdered. She was lingering because she didn’t know what to do and where to go. I told her to look for the “Light” and go to it and be with God and the family and friend who love her and were waiting for her. She left and walked out of the restroom and I could see her image go out the door. I felt total peace for her at that moment. Before she left she smiled and told me that she would be back from time to time to make sure all was well. I was told later by the employees that things calmed right down after I was there. I was back there to be on the air after that and she popped in for a second to say hello and was back off to her happy place once again. That brief visit made me feel good because it let me know she was grateful for my help and that she was happy in her new beautiful home. I had never met Brent when he called me to come up and do another cleansing. There had been some strange happenings going on with electrical stuff and the station van. Also more noises. Josh, who was a young DJ that I knew through Train, had told Brent that I had the gift to get rid of negative spirits and to send them to the “Light” and away from the dwellings where people live or work. He had seen the results from the first cleansing and thought I could clear the energy of the place once again. It was my understanding that later on after I had been there to do the first cleansing, some of the Interns and other employees had brought in a Ouija board against my advice and had possibly stirred up some bad energy. Some people treat the boards as toys but it is my belief that they are in no way a toy. I believe that bad spirits can make their way IN through them with uniformed people than in any other way I know. I suggest they be very careful if using them. I don’t believe they are safe. That is just my opinion. When I went back up there to do the cleansing for Brent, there were some of his employees interested in seeing how I do my work. There was Josh, Greg, Brandon, and a couple other young men. I walked through and found a lot of negative energy in the building. There were a couple of employees who had negative energy attached to them and it was spreading throughout the building. The break room was very heavy with bad energy as was one whole side of the building. A man appeared in my vision and showed me what he looked like and he told me his name. He said he used to own the station before he died and he didn’t like the way the two employees were running the station and he was upset and angry. It was nice when he was alive and they were causing it to go downhill. He was making some of the noises and strange happening to try to get their attention so they would wise up and do things the way he wanted them done. I just listened to him and I didn’t send him to the “Light” because I felt he had already been there and was returning when he felt the need to be there to watch over his place. I knew he would go to back to the “Light” as soon as he accomplished his goal. He just needed to make things right with his baby/ his station. Even though he was upset, I didn’t feel that the horribly goose bump energy I was feeling in the building was coming from him. I found out shortly that I was right. When I walked into the studio, I felt there was very deep dark energy in one corner of the room. I had been doing my usual cleansing ritual in the building and especially in the studio. Then I went outside the studio to an adjacent long room with booth desks. They call it the Jock room. As we were standing there I was starting my prayer and procedure again when in my vision I saw an entity that I had never seen before. It was pretty scary even though I knew that God and I were in control. I must have been getting too close for his comfort. He showed me what he looked like. He is what I call the dark figure. He had no legs or arms. He had on a black short cloak and a black hat and he had no face though there was a place for one that was blank but dark. He was looking at me and the others there. It was spooky and I recall telling the boys I had never had a vision like that before. I started praying my usual cleansing prayer with more intensity and sprinkling the sea salt and holy water around. I told the Dark figure that was hovering around us to go to the “Light” and leave the premises right at that moment because he wasn’t wanted there. He left. I am not sure there is a place in the “Light” for him but I am sure God did something with him. After I let the building, the guys said there were no more happenings and that things felt calm. I thought that would be the case because I felt the calmness when leaving the station. I wondered for a long while after that what that figure was, and then one day Brent sent me a link to an Internet show that showed a picture and an article about the figure that I had seen at the station. I think they called him the Shadow man. I think he was brought in by the employees through the Ouija board and he decided to attach his energy to the two negative employees. Wonder In tribute to William Wordsworth I witnessed Wonder in the woods Through the dreamy eyes of childhood. I saw a fallen, short, straight stick Come alive by Nature-magic! Suddenly, it twisted and turned, And, looking closely, I discerned Tiny legs, too many to tell-- The crowning glory of the spell! Eighty plus saw I at a glance, All moving in a spritely dance! Day by day, the creature could thrive By using its hundred-foot drive. More than all this, the oddest thing Was that I heard the creature think! It had not the slightest clue how It worked all those legs! It just did What it had done with all its might Before, just because it felt right. The points, to which it was headed And from which it came, it knew not Nor did it need to, for the now Was the sole substance of its thought. Let mystery be Mystery Was sound enough philosophy. Then, the fly came. It had to buzz And spoil the wonder which once was. It had to ask the centipede, "How do you ever make them heed, Those countless legs! How do you know Which ones must wait while others go?" The poor thing! Not a bit of brains! The malice of the fly is plain, To ask it to ponder! It fell Into this deep contemplation That killed all its animation! The spell was broken. It was cursed Never to work what worked so well! It thought and thought, "Which leg comes first," Paralyzed in vainly trying To remember what it had done. The magic of the now was gone, As the poor thing lay there, dying! How hard it is to teach people to work magic nowadays! Everybody has been brainwashed to think so scientifically! The first things they ask are, "Why does magic work? How?" These questions go a long way to nipping the magic at the bud. The deep roots hidden under them, in the backs of their minds, is the doubt of, why do magic? Magic is magic, not science, so the name of game is doing, not knowing, as in knowing why and knowing how. Doing magic goes back a long, long way, to the first religion man had. I do think that magic is as old as man himself. The most respected out of his clan of cavemen was doing it, I bet, even before they had mastered the fire needed to burn a Yule log! Nowadays, as pampered as we are with central heat, we wonder how they made it through winter without even a fire. When spring came, the cavemen themselves may well have wondered, "how did we ever make it?" But when winter returned, whatever they did before instinctively they did again. The odds are good that part of the mystery of survival had to do with wearing those bear skins! They figured that out too, and even in the warm weather, the shaman wore a bear skin while dancing the sacred dance in honor of the mystery of being alive. The shaman was in touch with that Something Magical in life and the world, something most of us have grown numb to feeling. So, how does magic work? Beats me! A variation of the same, old story, is it not? "How did we ever work it out? It must be magic!" The odds are good that part of the mystery has to do with wearing those ceremonial robes! And why do we do it, anyway? Just because--it feels right! Modern man has grown obsessed with, "From where did I come and to where am I going?" But one of the first things to keep in mind in this magical world of ours is, the future is the Great Unknown, and for the most part, so is the past. The magic is in the now, and knowing that all else is, not only unknown but also unknowable. As Doris Day used to sing, the future is not ours to see, not even if we happen to be among that elite of the greatest psychics. Come again, you say? You are scratching your head, thinking, "Isn't seeing the point of being psychic?" Sure, as long as none of us sees too clearly! I don't want fatalism, do you? Every beginner in the metaphysical arts should be careful about what he asks for. Ask Divinity for just enough vision to use our freedom more effectively, not so much that it takes our freedom away. | November, 2008 Autumn Astrology Trends The Full Moon shines on the Dove As It Flies Over Troubled Waters By Dikki-Jo Mullen, Astrologer Scorpio’s time envelopes us to “fall behind”. All astrologers are thrilled. Profoundly happy because we are back on standard time. This eases our psyches and simplifies horoscope calculations. November’s grey evenings offer a last glitter of sunset light as it flashes on the fading colors of autumn foliage. Even here in Florida the fading pumpkins of All Hallows are touched are by an early frost. Changes in the early holiday season punctuate and accentuate the deep thread of changes running through the world around us. Regardless of how you felt about the outcome of The Election, it’s healing and a relief that the stressful campaign trail has finally reached an end. Certainly the time of first hearing the news that Barack Obama was elected the 44 President of the Unites States will be one of those memory moments forever etched in our consciousness. “Change“ and “Looking Ahead” are the themes for our beloved country. These very themes are brilliantly mirrored in the patterns of the heavens. Perhaps the November Scorpio Sun message shared is that truth is not at all like a clear crystal to be carried and held, but rather instead an infinite ocean of mysterious fluidity that we tumble into headfirst? WORLD FAMOUS JOURNALIST RUTH MONTGOMERY REVEALS THE WALK-IN PRESIDENT It is now time for Ruth Montgomery to reveal the identity of the man Mrs. Montgomery was given many yeas go as the much heralded Walk- In President. The timeline for his election was believed to between 2004 and 2016. His name is John McCain. At the time of this that prediction Mr. McCain fit the criteria. Yet after his ignominious primary defeat at the hands of George Bush there was a great change in McCain’s attitude and philosophy. This is how I was given this incredible information. Back in 1999 my friend, the world famous journalist and widely read metaphysical author, Ruth Montgomery had her last book published. It was called The World to Come. One particularly intriguing theory she put forth, again, was that we would have a Walk-In President who would help greatly in the troubled times we were to face. Now this was before 9-11. In fact Ruth passed over to the other side three months before this tragic occurrence. Of course there was plenty of speculation as to whom this person might be. She did not give a race just some clues, such as they would become discouraged about politics at one point. At that time I was a fan of Senator Bill Bradley and planned to vote for him in the primary but his campaign was not viable any longer by the time we voted in Ohio. I recently heard he was the victim of some pretty dirty tricks. So I then looked at John McCain and the straight talk express and ended up voting for him, but his campaign was also scuttled. In the meantime Senator Bradley was dropping out of politics. So when I spoke to Ruth I said I thought I knew who the Walk-In president would be…Bill Bradley. No, she told me and it was not the viable candidates for 2000, George W. Bush and Al Gore. So I kept asking and one day much to my amazement she gave me the name. I was amazed. So I said, “Ruth when are you going to announce this? “Not until after it happens.” She told me. “Why?” I wanted to know. “Because it is not our place to use our influence for such things” She went on “Now that I have told you, you must promise to never tell anyone unless this person does not run, or if he does not win.” What she said made sense and so I promised and have never told anyone, until now. Of course I watched and listened and read everything I could about Mr. McCain. I also asked others if they had an idea who it might be, although I did realize if Ruth did tell anyone else she would make them promise also not to tell until the time was right. When Ruth named JOHN MCCAIN, at that time it made perfect sense. He was the maverick. He saw things in the world in a different way. He gave us “HOPE” with the Good News Express. When he was a victim of dirty tricks by the Bush Gang he seemed to change. I hoped that would change. However when I saw him on a bus campaigning for George W. Bush in 2004, I saw a different man. This attitude in this 2008 campaign has been even more disturbing with his do anything, say anything, to win mentality. So here we are in the throes of the 2008 campaign and can we hope that any of these remaining candidates is the walk-in president or do we have to wait even longer for someone to truly turn our country around? No we do not have to wait. I believe free will and changing circumstances have brought forth a man who fits all the needs and has the problem solving techniques that are greatly needed in the world we are facing. His name is Barak Obama. I first saw him when he was running for the Senate and I got that psychic feeling that has never been wrong, there was something special about Mr. Obama . So I watched, listened, read his book, and knew this man would run for President of the United States of America. I personally wish he could have gotten a little more seasoning and yet I see this to be his destiny. Facts about the Walk-In President: *Male *Not, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, Ross Perot, or Bill Bradley *In 1991 his name was known to some but not all Americans. *In 1993 he was already in some political office *He does not like the power games *You will see a change in his personality and goals *He will be elected overwhelmingly as his sensible ideas come to the forefront. She went on to say this man will be in a position of trust, he will address the needs of all Americans, will have no strong party affiliation, will have been elected to an office in the 1990’s, have great foresight, and will do everything he can do to keep people safe. Some will claim he is a walk-in and a born again Christian. If we are not involved in a war his main focus at the start of his presidency will be famine, floods, and changing world conditions. In keeping with the list of qualities this individual would possess they much more closely fit Barak Obama. There is much evidence that this is the man desperately needed to lead America through such perilous times. Moreover there must be great cooperation if this republic truly wants to be saved. Pretty words will do no good; there must be action. What is equally incredible is that John McCain, who was believed to not have a chance of being the Republican candidate at the beginning of 2008, he surprised everyone, and was the primary winner. I believe his attitudes of winning at all costs and relationship with President George W Bush created his ultimate downfall Mr. Obama will not want to frighten people but he will be aware of safe geological areas as well as services and equipment that must be ready for emergency situations. People will be skeptical that there will be such cataclysmic events about to occur. Yet once this happens people will scramble to safety and they need a cool head at the helm in such trying times. It will take someone with great wisdom and organizational skills to handle such dramatic earth and life occurrences. President-Elect Obama has all these qualities. Dear Readers! Happy Holidays! We think of Thanksgiving and Christmas as the season of giving. I think of them as two out of the three festivals of giving, including Halloween. On the first festival, we give to the community, specifically its children; on the second festival, we give thanks to God; on the third, we give mainly to our families, although I feel that no less we should give to the less fortunate. Setting all this aside as a season has both a good and a bad side to it.We get so caught up on the treadmill of daily living that we often forget about giving. The Holidays offer us the reminder we so badly need. On the other hand, it can make us think that giving belongs just to this season. Giving always is in season! According to the apostle Luke, what did Jesus say about giving? "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom." (Luke VI, 38, KJV) Did He say to give in due season? No! The Christ put it all in this one magic word: "GIVE"! The ethics of Jesus is, in a most fundamental way, one of giving. This is a foundation of His teachings which we like to forget. It flies against the rules of reason. When we are poor, it makes sense to us to say, "I can't give now because I don't have it to give." If you accept the truth of His words, however, the best time to give is when we are poorest, for is this not also when we most need to receive? As foolish as that may seem, we use a similar principle all the time on the physical plane. We do it every step we take, but it is easier to see this way: have you ever rowed a boat? How do you get the boat to move forward? The only way is to push BACK with the oars, the direction opposite of which you want to go. It's a law of physics. Sir Isaac Newton put it thus: "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction." The rule, "Give, and it shall be given unto you," is the same principle working on the higher, metaphysical level. Also, when you need to row ahead faster, the only way is to push back harder with the oars. In a similar way, when we need to receive the most is exactly when we need to give the most. At first, this seems like a type of selfishness, to give because we expect to get back. Remember, though, that the magic works in both directions equally. By helping others, we best help ourselves, truly enough, but just as truly, by helping ourselves, we best help others. Can't you feel the unity behind all this? And--Oh!--what a wonderful feeling it is! Okay, you say, but now you ask, "how much should I give?" When we are poor, of course Jesus did not mean that we should give away our last cent! Whether we are employed or unemployed, we nearly always can spare to give a little. That very same amount given when we are poor really means that much more to us, compared to that same offering when we are secure, doesn't it? We give more with this dollar, by virtue of being broke, than we gave with that dollar yesterday when we were secure. But how much, exactly, is enough? How rarely do we give so much, that we can't give just a bit more! Can we ever fly too far, when just a bit farther, we could earn our angelic wings? Or you might say, our hummingbird wings! I am going to walk my talk, by giving just a bit more, so here is my poem as a postscript, with love, Radko. The Hummingbird The blossom opens its heart of nectar; Receiving the hummingbird, it lives on. Its life is all the blossoms far and wide, That shall carry on after it is gone. | Navy Petty Officer Mike Monsoor PO2 (EOD2) Mike Monsoor, a Navy EOD Technician, was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously for jumping on a grenade in Iraq , giving his life to save his fellow SEALs. During Mike Monsoor's funeral in San Diego , as his coffin was being moved from the hearse to the grave site at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery , SEALs were lined up on both sides of the pallbearers route forming a column of twos, with the coffin moving up the center. As Mike's coffin passed, each SEAL, having removed his gold Trident from his uniform, slapped it down embedding the Trident in the wooden coffin. The slaps were audible from across the cemetery; by the time the coffin arrived grave side, it looked as though it had a gold inlay from all the Tridents pinned to it. This was a fitting send-off for a warrior hero. This should be front-page news instead of the crap we see every day. A certain Lieutenant Colonel at Luke AFB deserves a big pat on the back. Apparently, an individual who lives somewhere near Luke AFB wrote the local paper complaining about a group of F-16s that disturbed his/her day at the mall. When that individual read the response from a Luke AFB officer, it must have stung quite a bit. The complaint: 'Question of the day for Luke Air Force Base: Whom do we thank for the morning air show? Last Wednesday, at precisely 9:11 A.M, a tight formation of four F-16 jets made a lowpass over Arrowhead Mall, continuing west over Bell Road at approximately 500 feet. Imagine our good fortune! Do the Tom Cruise-wannabes feel we need this wake-up call, or were they trying to impress the cashiers at Mervyn's early bird special? Any response would be appreciated.' The response: Regarding 'A wake-up call from Luke's jets' On June 15: At precisely 9:12 a.m., a perfectly timed four- ship fly by of F-16s from the 63rd Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Force Base flew over the grave of Capt. Jeremy Fresques. Capt Fresques was an Air Force officer who was previously stationed at Luke Air Force Base and was killed in Iraq on May 30, Memorial Day. At 9 a. m. on June 15, his family and friends gathered at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City to mourn t he loss of a husband, son and friend. Based on the letter writer's recount of the fly by, and because of the jet noise, I'm sure you didn't hear the 21-gun salute, the playing of taps, or my words to the widow and parents of Capt. Fresquesas. I gave them their son's flag on behalf of the President of the United States and all those veterans and servicemen and women who understand the sacrifices they have endured. A four-ship fly by is a display of respect the Air Force gives to those who give their lives in defense of freedom. We are professional aviators and take our jobs seriously, and on June 15 what the letter writer witnessed was four officers lining up to pay their ultimate respects. The letter writer asks, 'Whom do we thank for the morning airshow? The 56th Fighter Wing will make the call for you, and forward your thanks to the widow and parents of Capt Fresques, and thank them for you, for it was in their honor that my pilots flew the most Honor Able Formation of their lives.
